Making Custom Steel "Products" Is Only Part Of What We Do For Your Jobs

MEMBER: Solutions logo2

When you first reached out to us (ever, even if it was 10-20 years ago), you likely were referred to us, or you were searching for (but didn’t know of an experienced one) a custom fabricator or you found us online (most likely). Your priority likely was “someone who can make this specialty part, assemblies or unique finish”. These are the most common issues we first answer regularly for new customers.

shipped with all the needed documentation & certifications.]

Of course, we have the answers for you and even handouts and references to our website and specific Newsletters and other materials. They all readily address WHETHER we can make what you need. But that is hardly the “end of the rainbow”, as you know there are almost endless issues thereafter as to HOW we can fulfil your contract together.

Today, we want to talk about some of these “HOW’s”. Metfab Metals has literal decades of experience crafting and custom finishing metal parts & assemblies of all types. It’s not unusual that fabrication is the simpler part of our working together as a team. As the old saying goes, “the devil is in the details.”1

These “details” start with our reading your job’s specs. We have many years of reading these and thus familiar with their standard content. Not every fabricator has a staff with such knowledge at their fingertips. Often these specs set out what paperwork all your subs must generate before final payment can be made to YOU. This is especially true on a LEED project where we must supply you with detailed and accurate certifications as to the source of our raw materials, our delivery methods, what subcontractors we employed, etc…

Such certifications are now routinely called for on an ongoing basis as so many projects now seek LEED recognition.2

So what is Metfab Metals’ broad message here today in April, 2022?  As very experienced fabricators, we have the experience, technology, essential tools and machinery-------- as well as the ingenuity & creativity to solve the most challenging fabrications your architect might design.  And, just as significant, we are familiar with  most job’s specs and can supply the certifications and other paperwork called for before final payment is made. As an example, we are attaching here the certification form we designed and have used many times. Feel free to adopt it yourself as we already have it posted on our Website.

On our Website, Metfab Metals shows how we are experts and true “team players” who want to be part of your regular building team, so that together we can smoothly deliver precision products to become integral parts of truly memorable and lasting buildings------and do it all timely, with minimal change orders or, as above, none at all and in full compliance with the documentation that your contract’s “small print” requires..

Call us; you’ll see what we have written here is what happens here.

REMEMBER: We always offer to work with our customers from the
job "concept" stage to anticipate issues before
fabrication, to suggest
better ways to order, extrude, cut, drill, paint, finish, even stage
and
deliver and ------  and always to save time and money

1. This saying is often assigned to the 19th Century German philosopher, Friedrich Nietsche, who unfortunately also said simply “God is dead”! Guess he’s found out whether he was right on that one by now!!!

2. LEED simply means Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). It’s a green building certification program developed by the non-profit U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), “This includes rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes, and neighborhoods, which aims to help building owners and operators be environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently. …….Most LEED-certified buildings are located in major U.S. metropolises……” “Some U.S. federal agencies, state and local governments require or reward LEED certification. This can include tax credits, zoning allowances, reduced fees, and expedited permitting…….”……” LEED is a design tool rather than a performance-measurement tool and focuses on energy modeling rather than actual energy consumption.” As we have all come to know, LEED is regularly specified in a sub-contract and your certification of compliance with it can be an advantage in being awarded such a sub-contract.
