We Also Make Custom Fabricated Steel an Emergency Basis When Needed.

MEMBER: Solutions logo2

Most significant jobs in building construction are quoted, scheduled months in advance and successfully executed per that express schedule. However, even with the most carefully delineated scheduled, mistakes occur. We have helped, and can help, to resolve these steel errors as they arise, even for new customers. We are particularly well-equipped and situated to help in this unfortunate situation, so that the original schedule can be re-captured and the whole schedule in not lost.

The issue that is often critical is WHETHER we can make what you need, as you need it and still deliver in a timely fashion. We can---and often do. A quick survey of our website proves that, and gives examples. But that is hardly the “end of the line”. As you know there are almost endless issues thereafter as to HOW you can fulfil the rest of your contract and continue timely altogether, despite this now-fixed glitch.

Today, we want to talk about some of these “HOW’s”. Of course, Metfab Metals has literal decades of experience crafting and custom-finishing metal parts & assemblies of all types. It’s not unusual that those processes are the simpler parts of our work together as a team. What bedevils you then is the detail of working expeditiously together. This is the point where our decades of experience pay rich rewards, and not just for Metfab Metals. but for YOU!

These “details” ordinarily start with our reading of your job’s specs. We have many years of experience reading these and thus are fully familiar with their standard content. As we have said before, not every fabricator has a staff with such knowledge at their fingertips. Often these specs set out not just the “nuts & bolts” of what steel must be fabricated, but just as significantly, what paperwork all your subs must generate before final payment can be made to YOU.

As we have written before, this is especially true on a LEED project where we must supply you with certifications as to the source of all of our raw materials, our delivery methods, what subcontractors we employed, how far materials traveled, etc… Such certifications are now routinely called for on an ongoing basis as so many projects now seek LEED recognition.1

So------what is Metfab Metals' broad message here today in May, 2022? There are several. Of course, as long-experienced fabricators, we have the experience, technology, essential tools, knowledgeable staff and machinery-------- and the ingenuity & creativity to solve the most challenging fabrications your architect might design. Equally significant, we are familiar with most job’s basic specs and can supply the documentation, certifications and other paperwork essential before final payment is made. But our stressed point today is that we are “team players” who want to be your ”go to guys” for immediate needs, as well as reliable long-term supplier of all manner of specialty steel and other metals.

On our Website & in monthly Newsletters, Metfab Metals shows how we are experts and true “team players” who want to be part of your “every day” building team, so that together we can smoothly deliver precision products to become integral parts of truly memorable and lasting buildings------and do it all routinely, with expedited ordering through our proprietary quotation and documentation system in full compliance with the documentation that your contract’s “small print” requires. From there we can work daily with your project manager to not only deliver, but document, all the parts & assemblies designed by your architects & engineers.

Call us; you’ll see what we have written here is what happens as your contracts are fulfilled.

1. LEED simply means Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). It’s a green building certification program developed by the non-profit U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), “This includes rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes, and neighborhoods, which aims to help building owners and operators be environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently. …….Most LEED-certified buildings are located in major U.S. metropolises……” “Some U.S. federal agencies, state and local governments require or reward LEED certification. This can include tax credits, zoning allowances, reduced fees, and expedited permitting…….”……” LEED is a design tool rather than a performance-measurement tool and focuses on energy modeling rather than actual energy consumption.” As we have all come to know, LEED is regularly specified in a sub-contract and your certification of compliance with it can be an advantage in being awarded such a sub-contract.
